About Me

Colin J. S., BNRSC Student, Thompson Rivers University

I don't really know how to start off a self-obsessed 'about me' section of a website. I am a student of the Bachelor of Natural Resource Sciences program at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, first year. I am taking courses on dendrology (tree sciences), resource management, biology, calculus and English. Despite my apparent love for writing, English is the single most useless and stupid class ever maintained as a mandatory course.

I have been many places in the world. Some of it was for school, most of it was for vacation. I was blessed to have been brought up by a very well-off family that believed in higher education and a wicked level of logic and understanding. The word Kardashian never came up once in my 17 years of living in Langley, BC (in fact I had to Google how to spell that).

I do not consume alcohol or use any drugs, I enjoy being myself to the truest level. I don't care if you drink, smoke or shoot up, I don't. That's your problem.

I have a love for the outdoors and nature in general, and not in the hippy kind of way. I think passion is a better word. There is nowhere I would rather be than hiking through an undeveloped forest, anywhere in the world. I am the kind of guy who, when he realizes that no one else is at the top of the mountain or on the trail with him spreads his arms and runs like a mad-man with a ridiculous grin on his face, sometimes laughing.

I have played piano since deciding to teach myself in grad nine and have since composed lots of music which I promptly forgot due to my lack of theory education. I don't have enough time to learn how to write dots on lines. I've tried, I've failed. I also play violin, well, not like Col. Wilhelm Klink (although Klemperer was an outstanding violinist).

I am quite skilled in photography, also self taught, hence my "picture(s) of the day" entries. I love filmmaking, design, and aviation. Aviation holds onto my heart for reasons I can't explain.

Sports are something I cannot understand, although I enjoy skiing, hiking, running (alone), nordic skiing and tennis. Frisbee is not a sport.

I was diagnosed with ADHD (then called ADD) in 2002, grade two. It is not severe enough to warrant potatoes are tasty.

I don't get offended by anything except morons, who disgrace pretty much the human race in general.
